Wey League
***NEXT GALA DATE: 2011 competition***
Congratulations to all those swimmers who competed in
the second round of the Wey League at Bognor on Sat 20/3. The
swimmers were a real credit to the club - both in and out of the
water. There were far too many PBs and Speeding Tickets to
mention here - results will be posted on the Members Pages
soon. Thanks also to all those parents who came to support
and help out poolside.
This is a small local league for swimmers under 14 years
of age aimed at those who have not qualified for county
competitions. There are two rounds of
competition, usually held in January and
March. The league is divided in to
separate galas in the first round, with the winners and runners up
from each gala then competing for the trophies in the second
round. All the clubs who get into the 'finals'
get an award to take home. The galas involve 50m
races (25m fly for the younger ages) and x25m
relays. There is also a relay competition for
u10s, and this is often the very first team gala for younger
swimmers.
The AGM for the
Wey League is held in November each year, after which time details
of the follow year's league galas will be made available.
