NASLS 'The Arena League'
NSLS is
now the NASLS - The National ARENA Swimming League South with the
official abbreviation of "THE ARENA LEAGUE".
This league
competitions is run on a national basis. Further
information about the league, results from previous years and
details of the current competition can be found on this link to the
NSLS website. The rules, promoters
conditions and programme can be found also be found on
this website.
We are in
the "South Region" which is organised across three divisions
(Premier, 1 and 2). The lower divisions are
subdivided geographically; and this year we have moved
to Division 2 West (having previously been in the 'East'
group).
The league
is held across three galas; always held on the second Saturdays in
October, November and December. The programme
for each gala is the same and ages for competition are as at
the end of the year (i.e. to be an U12 you must not turn 12 before
the 31st December of the year of
competition).

For each of
these league galas we take a team of officials (two timekeeprs and
a judge) and two poolside helpers. However, we
may also be asked to "host" a league gala - invariably this seems
to be at another pool - which involves a more "all hands to the
deck" type approach!
